Hey Tim, Josh and David,
well here are the notes i took at the last tutorial session:
1. DO NOT go to the level of detailing and scheduling you were thinking...it is a design based exercise...not plans to be built. The eaves outline and solar data are of much more importance here.
2. It was discussed with David, being the only attending group member, that the laundry might not be best placed(directly off the lounge).
3. The window seat is a nice idea
4. Remember when showing plans North ALWAYS faces up the page
5. No need for a meter box...hw system yes but remember OFF the grid.
6. Gravity feed your solar hot water
7. Need to show why the bedroom corridor doesn't lead anywhere. (if for air flow then indicate that on your poster, otherwise it seems pointless and wasteful)
8. Make the west window a high skinny window...for solar passive reasons...MUST be well protected by eaves overhang
9. If you are using two different solar systems then indicate it on poster (must be on the north side of your building)
10. Guttering must always flow down...do you have enough slope?
11.Water...what is your secondary system?...bore water?
12. Solar batteries can be stored externally as long as they are in a sheltered and well protected area.
13. Need an elevation and section
14. visit Ceres environmental Park...or www.ceres.....(either .org or .net.org)
15. We are being reviewed by a panel of strong Eco tech architects....very important our buildings meet the standard...and exceed it!
cross ventilation...wide eaves....water collection..grey water....power system...toilet system...very important to be shown.
you had some real good ventilation sections and plans early on...go back to these...
Good Luck boys
