MINIMA_REVIEW_LIZ WHITE

Well now that the review is over and marks are back its time I said how it went. Basically the review itself went really well. It appeared as though the tutors liked my concept and only had one comment on how to make my layout better.

I think though that the comments and the marks did not quite tally up. I would have liked the tutors to suggest how to improve my concept or presentation etc, whichever one it was that let down my grade, so I know how to improve for next time.

This is an excellent blog Liz – well done. I am happy to see both you and Josh reflecting upon Minima. It’s a pity no one else from your group has joined in with you both though.

You mention that you were given no indication in the review of how to improve your work. Often, reviewers can be a little too polite – not wanting to shatter the confidence of students early in their design learning. If you feel you would like more constructive criticism – make sure that you tell this to your reviewers, for they will normally cooperate. The review is often your only chance for detailed feedback – so sometimes you have to take charge of the situation. By the way, you were only 1 mark off a distinction for Minima – so your design wasn’t that underappreciated.

Richard,

Thank you for your comments, will be sure to try and take the innitiative in future if I feel the reviewers are holding back in order to be polite. (A nice gesture on their behalf). Thank you also for letting me know about my mark...it does help to know it was towards the upper end of a credit at least. thank you
