MINIMA

Firstly sorry its taken so long, but as explained on our group blog...I'm silly. So, Minima, well what an experience. I think I'd be quite accurate in saying that in this one assignment I learnt more than in, perhaps, all the rest put together.


WEEK ONE

Well once the site was chosen by our group I started to look at the bubble diagrams. I'm not sure how useful i found them to my working style, though they did highlight that most functions could be performed in the same space except the shower/toilet are would need separation of some form.

Coming into my first tutorial session I think I was fairly confident that I had a solid concept to work with. Well, was I wrong? The answer...YES. It was pointed out to me, quite accurately, by my tutor that i was basically neglecting half the requirements. From the "self containable, demountable, relocatable living capsule for one person" I had come up with a design for a box made from concrete blocks. Practical for this assignment...in retrospect...lets just say I'm glad I listened to my tutor and went in another direction.
